Leave an Impression with the Passport Photo of Tomorrow.

Airports strip us of our identity. LAI is an installation for airport terminals that makes a creatively-interesting image of the user through motion capture. Positioned in the middle of the cookie-cutter travel retail, the Leave An Impression (LAI) installation consists of a 2.5 m high pod, powered by Microsoft Kinect, with three screens, infrared and digital cameras and photo imaging software. The installation reads the traveler’s body; their clothing colour, their motion, their proximity, and creates an algorithmically generated reflection that they can manipulate through motion. Their impression is uploaded to a gallery and travellers can publish their profile socially from there. LAI is currently in Amsterdam’s Schipol airport.
